Big Apple: City´s ban on trans-fat oil takes effect

New York / NY. (wib) New York City´s ban on trans-fat-laden cooking oils, the first of its kind in the United States, is now in effect. Along with the ban, fast-food restaurants are now required to post calories on their menu. Few, however, were complying with the calorie rule. Most fast-food chains reversed their initial opposition to the ban and implemented it ahead of the deadline on July 01, the city Health Department reported.
