Annapolis / MD. (nef) Northeast Foods Inc., contract baker for the U.S. commercial and fast-food industries, has a recipe for expansion that will cook up 84 new jobs in Johnston County (NC), according to the office of Governor Beverly Perdue. Maryland-based Northeast Foods Inc. plans to spend 25,4 million USD to open a new bakery in Clayton. The company has won 350'000 USD in One North Carolina Fund incentives for the expansion. The overall average annual wage of the new positions will be 41'815 USD, the governor´s office said in a statement. By comparison, the Johnston County annual average wage is 31'408 USD. Privately owned Northeast Foods, which has five operating facilities in the U.S., is McDonald´s largest supplier of buns in the United States. The new bakery will serve Golden State Foods distribution centres in Garner and Lexington (SC). Golden State Foods is a primary supplier to McDonald´s.
