Smucker Foods of Canada: announces investment

Orrville / OH. (sc) Smucker Foods of Canada Corporation, a subsidiary of the J. M. Smucker Company, has announced a USD 12 million investment in its Sherbrooke, Quebec manufacturing facility. The Sherbrooke facility, which has proudly been a part of the Quebec community since 1939, produces «Carnation» evaporated milk and «Eagle Brand» sweetened condensed milk products for Canadian consumers.

The investment, supported in part by funding from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food, will be used to upgrade equipment that will allow the facility to increase its flexibility and the variety of products produced. This improvement will also lead Smucker to broaden its sourcing of domestic milk.

«This investment will go a long way toward solidifying our long-term presence in Sherbrooke,» said Aurelio Calabretta, Vice President + General Manager for Smucker Foods of Canada. «Through this initiative, we will be able to introduce new packaging capabilities previously unavailable to us in Canada.»

In addition to playing an important role in the Smucker Foods of Canada business model, the Sherbrooke facility has worked to be a trusted corporate citizen. The facility’s employees continue to support numerous local organizations and initiatives and have maintained a dedication to environmentally sustainable practices.

Smucker began offering products in Canada in 1988 and today is a proud employer with offices in Sherbrooke, Montreal, Markham, Brampton, and Calgary. Smucker Foods of Canada offers a family of trusted brands.
