Baku / AZ. (ami) Azerbaijan will rise grain production till the record index till the end of year, declared Ismet Abbasov, the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. According to him, agrarians have almost completed the harvesting campaign of grains throughout 99,6 percent of sowing areas. Agrarians still continue the harvesting campaign in several mountain areas. Till the end of the year, Azerbaijan will reach the record index of grain harvesting campaign (including maize) in the sphere of agriculture – three million tonnes (milling wheat – 2,2 million tonnes), marked the Minister. Such volumes will completely satisfy the domestic consumption of the country in milling grains. Last year, Azerbaijan harvested 2’498 thousand tonnes of grains (with maize) throughout 904,7 thousand hectares of sowing areas (source: agrimarket.info).
