Britannia: Net Profit increases 45 percent in Q3/2011

Mumbai / IN. (bil) Britannia Industries Limited (BIL), India´s leading Food Company, reported sales of 12’474 MM INR for the quarter, a growth of 15,4 percent and Net Profit of 541 MM INR, a 44,8 percent growth. This takes its YTD December revenue to 36’478 MM INR, a growth of 18,2 percent and Net Profit to 1’337 MM INR, an increase of 31 percent. YTD December Consolidated Sales of 40’121 MM INR grew 19,1 percent and Consolidated Net Profit at 1’383 MM INR, increased 43,5 percent. Commenting on the performance, Managing Director Vinita Bali said: «This quarter again we have generated profitable growth, driven by a healthy blend of volume, mix, price and operational efficiencies. There is a 130 basis points improvement in profit from operations and our focus continues to be on commercializing consumption opportunities both in the Bakery + Dairy businesses».
