Solna / SE. (chab) Swedish Candyking Holding AB, leading supplier of pick & mix candy in the Nordic region, the UK, Ireland and Poland, restarts with the objective to regain lost ground in the Nordics. As a consequence, the current CEO, Fredrik von Oelreich, leaves his post and is replaced by Dani Evanoff. The organizational change comes into effect immediatly.
Dani Evanoff is the Swedish entrepreneur who among other things founded the pick & mix company Godisprinsen (Candy Prince) acquired by Candyking in 2008. Following the aqusition Mr. Evanoff was a part of the Candyking’s group management team for several years. He has since launched a number of new fast-moving consumer goods concepts outside Candyking.
«We have not had the development anticipated in the Nordics and we see a need for change in order to regain market share», says Bernt Lindberg, Chairman of Candyking’s Board of Directors.
Under the leadership of Mr. von Oelreich, Candyking has undertaken a restructuring albeit in difficult market conditions. The company has enjoyed stable growth in markets outside Sweden and new product concepts have been developed, not least by the relaunch of Parrots natural snacks. Based on this platform, Candyking will now strive for profitable growth.
To gain the maximum effect of the restart the board have chosen a operationally oriented CEO. The board is confident that Mr. Evanoff, will be able to implement necessary actions to create growth.
«We will again become our customers’ first choice for pick & mix candy as well as other confectionary and snacks products”, comments Dani Evanoff. ”We have the infrastructure, the brand and soon also the speed to challenge competition for both pick & mix and prepacked products».
«It will be my and my team’s main task to regain the confidence of the Nordic customers».
