Stockholm / SE. (cab) Swedish Cloetta AB, a leading confectionery company in the Nordic region, the Netherlands and Italy, announced its results for the second quarter 2014 (01 April to 3o June). Highlights: Net sales for the quarter increased by 9,5 percent to 1’238 million SEK (1’131). Operating profit was 85 million SEK (54). Underlying Ebit was 110 million SEK (109). Items affecting comparability amounted to minus 24 million SEK (minus 55) and consist of cost related to the acquisitions of Alrifai Nutisal AB and Aran Candy Limited and costs related to the factory restructurings. Cash flow from operating activities was 44 million SEK (minus 23). Net debt / underlying Ebitda was 4,6 times (4,6). In the quarter, loans of 34 million SEK were amortised. On 28 May 2014, Cloetta acquired Aran Candy Limited owning the brand «The Jelly Bean Factory». Initially, Cloetta has acquired 75 percent of the shares in Aran Candy Limited.
