Solna / SE. (coop) Coop Sweden AB is restructuring its organisation to increase competitiveness and provide better prices and offers to Coop in Sweden’s more than 3.9 million members. The change entails a reduction of about 100 positions at the office in Solna, which together with other measures results in a cost reduction of just over SEK 300 million (EUR 26.51 million). Group Chief Executive Marie Nygren: «Coop’s mission is to create economic benefits for our more than 3.9 million members. The sharp cost increases in recent years for the purchase of goods, energy, transport and increased rents mean that we must adapt the organisation to provide the conditions for a profitable Coop in Sweden. A strong Coop can compete with competitors and create both member benefits and contribute to increased sustainability.»
