Beijing / CN. (coc/ eb) China’s Cotti Coffee hitted a milestone with 7,000 stores worldwide. The chain embarked on its global expansion in 2023, today covering markets in Southeast Asia, East Asia, North America, the Middle East, and Australia. With operations spanning 28 countries and regions worldwide, the brand has seen rapid growth in both brand scale and market share. The number 3 coffee chain in East Asia will celebrate reaching the 7,000 store mark worldwide with a corresponding campaign, it said in its latest news release. The campaign is set to run till May 31.
According to Daxue Consulting, Starbucks China today counts more than 7,000 stores in the People’s Republic of China. The clear number 1 is Luckin Coffee with 16,200 stores – see «FY-2023 Net Revenues Increased 87 Percent» from February 26 here on bakenet:eu. Even in the People’s Republic, it is no longer so easy to get chains off the ground. Indicator: Cotti Coffee is not celebrating «7000 stores in China», but has to switch to «7000 stores worldwide». Besides, what kind of milestone is that? Given the pace of expansion described, a «real» milestone of 7500 stores would have been expected.
