Fazer Amica: acquires Blue Service Partners

Helsinki / FI. (fg) Fazer Amica, which is part of the Finnish Fazer Group, has acquired Lassila + Tikanoja PLC´s share of Blue Service Partners which is jointly owned by the companies and provides catering and property services.

Blue Service Partners will continue to operate under its own name as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fazer Amica. The acquisition will not affect the position of the employees. Tuula Lasander will continue as managing director of Blue Service Partners. Fazer Amica will continue to invest in the company´s development with respect to both catering and property services.

Services in the municipal market have been opened up to competition slower than expected over the previous three years. Both Fazer Amica and L+T believe, however, that municipalities will continue to outsource their services in the near future.

Blue Service Partners was founded in 2004. The aim of what was until now a joint company half-owned by Fazer Amica and L+T will continue to be to provide high-quality and diverse catering and property services as a comprehensive service. The company´s turnover in 2007 stood at around three million Euro, and the company employs around 70 people in 13 locations.

Fazer Amica is the leading catering service company in the Nordic and Baltic countries, which provides good food and customer-specific service solutions. In Finland, Fazer Amica has 900 restaurants and employs 4.100 people. The company´s turnover in 2006 stood at 277 million Euro. In addition to its operations in Finland, Fazer Amica also operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Russia.
