Stockholm / SE. (fg) The ICA Supermarket Upplands Väsby and ICA Kvantum in Farsta now each have an in-store bakery from Fazer Sweden. Qualified bakers are ready to bake a large selection of different types of bread. The bakery tradition dates back to 1891, and since then quality and flavour stood always in focus. Last year, in 2023, Fazer opened its first in-store bakery in Sweden at ICA Supermarket Vanadis in Stockholm. A concept where every day there is a freshly baked and flavoursome range of bread, baked from scratch. In Upplands Väsby and Farsta there is also a variety of buns and pastries available.

«We are incredibly happy to expand our in-store bakery concept to both Upplands Väsby and Farsta. The tradition of in-store bakery is in our backbone as we have over 100 in-store bakeries in Finland. In Sweden we have 3 and our ambition is to increase the number of in-store bakeries in the future,» says Fredrik Eklund, responsible for Fazer in-store bakeries.
The in-store bakery at ICA Supermarket in Upplands Väsby opened on 29 May. «Our customers demand quality products, so when there was an opening with Fazer in-store bakery, we found each other. I look forward to offering our customers a high-quality, freshly baked and unique range of bread seven days a week. Together with the fact that we are otherwise making a total renewal of our ICA store, I think the bakery adds a lot of customer benefit,» says Fredrik Boestad, retailer at ICA Supermarket Format.
The bakery in Farsta opened on 12 June. «It feels fun and exciting to offer our customers products baked from scratch. Fazer’s in-store bakery will offer a new level when it comes to our range of bread and coffee bread and we hope that it will be appreciated by our customers. The in-store bakery will help to strengthen our position as the leading player in Farsta,» says Marcus Tjernell, store manager at ICA Kvantum.
