Helsinki / FI. (pg) In March 2022, Finland’s Paulig Group announced the sale of the Gold+Green brand, intellectual property and the R+D function to the Finnish dairy and food company Valio Group Limited. At the same time, Paulig initiated a plan to phase out the remaining operations of Gold+Green Foods which were excluded from the transaction, and Gold+Green Foods started co-operation negotiations with its employees.
The initial estimate was that the planned changes would lead to the termination of a maximum of 69 employment relationships. As a result of the negotiations, the employment relationships of 57 Gold+Green Foods employees will be terminated. Production at the Järvenpää factory will cease by the end of April, and the business operations will be ramped down during May and June.
Gold+Green Foods, known for its revolutionary plant-based innovation «Pulled Oats», has been part of Paulig since 2016. Paulig has supported the brand and invested in its production, organisation and international growth but hasn’t been able to scale the business in a profitable way.
«We want to thank the Gold+Green team for all their hard work and strong commitment to developing this unique innovation and brand,» says Lenita Ingelin, SVP, Business Area Finland + Baltics at Paulig. «The story of this unique brand will continue in the future as part of Valio.»
Paulig will focus on driving growth in its main product categories, Tex Mex, Coffee, Spices and Snacks. Paulig will also continue to contribute to the growth of plant-based diets in these categories.
