Grupo Bimbo: Repays 135 million USD Loan In Advance

Mexico City / MX. (wsj) Grupo Bimbo has made an early repayment of 135 million USD, from a 900 million USD loan due January 2012, The Wall Street Journal reports. The bread maker used the proceeds of a recent 748 million USD offering of peso-denominated debt on the local debt market for the payment. It has already repaid a 600 million USD bridge loan, which was part of the financing for its 2,38 billion USD buyout in January of Weston Foods, a U.S. unit of Canada´s George Weston Limited. The buyout more than doubled the size of Bimbo´s operations in the United States (Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc.).
