Munich / DE. (ghm) The date for the next iba has been finalised. The World Market for Baking will be held in Munich once again from 12 to 17 September 2015. As before, the event will run for six days in September; however the new exhibition days will be Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
«Following on from the success of iba 2012, there was only one thing which the iba Advisory Board, exhibitors and visitors all wanted to see changed next time: they wanted the event to be held on a Saturday and Sunday. We have fulfilled this request. In 2015, iba will be held over a full weekend», explained Peter Becker, Chairman of the German Bakers´ Confederation (ZV). By opting for this schedule, we are giving our visitors the opportunity to attend both iba and the Oktoberfest, the world´s largest folk festival, which will kick off on Saturday 19 September.
In 2012, iba was attended by 70’000 bakers and pastry chefs. 41 percent of the visitors were from Germany. The event attracted visitors from a total of 164 countries. Besides Germany, the largest numbers of visitors came from the following ten countries: Austria, Russia, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, the USA, Türkiye, the UK and Switzerland. Stands were hosted by 1’255 companies in twelve halls, spanning a total area of 132’000 square metres.
