(ami) In the current year, Kazakhstan will probably increase wheat production by 1,5 to 2,0 million tonnes compared to the previous year, declared Ahylbek Kurishbaev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on July 30. As a reminder, in 2008, wheat harvest in the country totaled 12,5 million tonnes. According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture, real wheat production in 2009 will total nearly 14 million tonnes. The Ministry will provide more detailed forecast concerning wheat production in the middle of August, marked the Minister (source: agrimarket.info).
