Chisinau / MD. (ami) Moldova harvested over 90 percent of grains of the first group. According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, as of July 27, agrarians harvested grains throughout 502’400 hectares, or 91 percent from sowing areas. The production volumes totaled 1.08 million tonnes of grains, with the average yield of 21,6 centner per hectare. Agrarians almost completed the harvesting campaign of barley, the production volumes totaled over 160 thousand tonnes. The average yield of the grain totaled 22,3 centner per hectare. Moldova harvested 284,2 thousand hectare of winter wheat sowings (89,5 percent) from planned areas of 317,4 thousand hectare. Granaries received 686,3 thousand tonnes of the grain, the average yield totaled 24,2 centner per hectare. According to preliminary data of the Ministry, over 40 percent of new crop wheat volumes have good gluten content, which will satisfy to food consumption security of the country (source: agrimarket.info).
