Chisinau / MD. (ami) Wheat harvest 2009 will completely satisfy the food security of Moldova, declared Anatolie Spivachenko, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova, on August 04. According to him, agrarians harvested over 770 thousand tonnes of wheat, including nearly 45 percent of milling grains. Wheat quality of the new crop became higher compared to the previous year, mentioned Viktor Tozlovan, the deputy head of the State inspection of grains and grain provisions. According to him, gluten content of grains totals 23 percent. In several samples, the index totals 25 percent. In 2008, the index totaled 21 percent (source: agrimarket.info).
