Orkla: announces CEO Consumer and Financial Investments

Oslo / NO. (ok) Norway’s Orkla ASA announces that Maria Syse-Nybraaten has been appointed as EVP and CEO of the Orkla Consumer and Financial Investments business area. She is taking over the position after Thomas Ljungqvist who has served in an acting capacity since 16 February.

Syse-Nybraaten comes from the position of Investment Professional at Ferd Capital where she has held several key positions since 2013, including responsibility for health investments in the Nordics. Prior to that, she worked as an analyst at SEB. She has broad experience of ownership follow-up and Board work in a number of companies, including Dr. Fürst Medisinsk Laboratorium AS, Brav AS, Aidian OY and Fjord Line AS. Maria Syse-Nybraaten will report to Orkla President and CEO Nils Selte. She will take up her duties on 01 October 2022.

Thomas Ljungqvist will now take on a new role where, in addition to being CFO of Orkla Consumer and Financial Investments, he will be head of Industrial and Financial Investments, which comprises Jotun (42.6 percent), Hydro Power, Orkla Eiendom and Orkla Venture. He will also be in charge of the business area’s investments in Out of Home. Thomas will report to Maria Syse-Nybraaten.

Orkla Consumer and Financial Investments consists of two parts: Consumer Investments, which includes New York Pizza, Kotipizza, Orkla House Care, Lilleborg and Pierre Robert, and Industrial and Financial Investments, which comprises Jotun (42.6 percent), Hydro Power, Orkla Eiendom and Orkla Venture.
