(pj) Papa John’s International Inc., the world’s third largest pizza company, continues its strong performance in Russia with the signing of a restaurant development agreement in St. Petersburg. PJ Western Retail signed a development agreement to open 40 restaurants over the next eight years, with the first store scheduled to open in St. Petersburg in September. «We look forward to expanding our better pizza and quality ingredients to St. Petersburg and expect that our new customers will love our products as much as our current customers», said Christopher Wynne, co-owner and CEO of PJ Western Retail. PJ Western Retail currently operates over 84 Papa John’s restaurants in Russia and Belarus and is owned by Global Restaurant Management and private equity firm, Capman Russia Fund. «PJ Western Retail is one of our most successful franchisees. We expect that Christopher and his team will continue to provide our better ingredients. better pizza. and better service to St. Petersburg», said Tim O’Hern, Senior Vice President + Chief Development Officer. Papa John’s International is currently looking for potential franchisees in France, as well as Poland, Czech Republic and Belgium.
