(ami) In the current year, the actual grain production forecast in Russia totals nearly 85 million tonnes, which increased the average year indices, declared Sergey Korolev, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The forecast was prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture in common with the Ministry of Economic Development with allowance to the negative influence macroeconomic and natural and climatic factors. The index of agricultural gross output will total 98,3 percent compared to 2008, and 108,9 percent compared to 2007, an increase of 1,1 percent from the summary index of the governmental program of agricultural development for 2-year term, marked Korolev. To date, the condition of the industry is rather stable. In 2008, agricultural organizations of Russia received profits at the level of over 117 billion RUB (2,6 billion EUR) with the average profitability level of 15,3 percent.
Russia harvested over 34 million tonnes of wheat
According to operative data from the regions, as of August 10, 2009, the Russian Federation harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the area of 16,3\5 million hectares – 34,5 percent of sowing areas (source: agrimarket.info).
