(ami) The forecast of the general grain production in the current year in the Russian Federation totals 91 million tonnes as opposed to 108 million tonnes in 2008, declared the report of Razguliay company. According to experts of the agricultural holding, the export potential of the Russian Federation will total 18 million tonnes as opposed to 22,4 million tonnes in 2008/2009 MY. In the current season, the reduction of grain production forecast in Russia, and high harvests in traditional countries-importers will cause the decrease of grain export volumes from the country. Razguliay experts forecast keeping of the current level of prices for grains till the end of 2009, due to high volumes of carry-over stocks as of the beginning of 2009, and forecasted decrease of grain production. Specialists of the company forecast the growth of rice domestic production in 2009. In the terms of rice imports decreasing, the share of rice domestic production will reach the level of 64 percent as opposed to 54 percent in 2008, according to the report (source: agrimarket.info).
