Secret Recipe: four new outlets per month in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur / MY. (btm) Secret Recipe Cakes and Cafe Sdn Bhd (Secret Recipe), an award-winning cafe chain based in Kuala Lumpur, operates 130 cafes across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Sixty percent of its approximately 100 local outlets are franchise outlets. This days Secret Recipe CEO Datuk Steven Sim said in an interview with «Business Times Malaysia», that the franchise chain 2006 registered a group turnover of close to 90 million MYR – roundabout 18,89 million Euro. This year the group turnover could rise by eleven percent to over 100 million MYR. Established in 1997, the company plans to open four outlets a month in Malaysia this year. Outside Malaysia, Secret Recipe has presence in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China and New Zealand. «Soon, we will be in Karachi (Pakistan). We are also in the middle stage of opening an outlet in Australia», Sim said.
