Stockholm / SE. (swe) Swegreen AB, a world leader in in-store vertical farming, is proud to announce the successful launch of its latest farming unit at ICA Supermarket in Rimforsa, which went live a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, Swegreen is thrilled to announce its next installation at ICA Supermarket Sävja, scheduled for the upcoming weeks.
The newly launched farming unit in Rimforsa is Swegreen’s latest platform «Saga», which offers flexible production volumes of 2000 to 3000 heads of salads and herbs per week. «With this launch, we have opened up a new segment for Swegreen, targeting smaller supermarkets like ICA Supermarket Rimforsa and ICA Supermarket Sävja. This platform’s flexibility allows us to bring the benefits of in-store farming to a broader audience, ensuring fresh, locally grown produce is available year-round,» said Swegreen CEO Pierre Mohlin, expressing his enthusiasm for the new installations. «The response has been incredibly positive. Our goal is to create a sustainable and efficient food production system that meets the needs of local markets, and the Saga installation is a significant step towards achieving that.»
Store managers and owners of ICA Supermarket Rimforsa, Joakim Thörnberg and Emil Thörnberg, shared their excitement: «We are delighted to collaborate with Swegreen AB and introduce this innovative in-store farming unit to our store. It is a fantastic opportunity for uns to offer our customers the freshest, locally grown vegetables while creating a unique shopping experience.»
A similar view expresses Roberto Logiodice, store manager at ICA Supermarket Sävja: «We are looking forward to the upcoming launch of Swegreen’s farming unit in our store. This collaboration perfectly aligns with our commitment to providing high-quality, sustainable products to our community.»
Saga, the growing platform, not only enhances the freshness and quality of produce and offers a futuristic shopping experience but also significantly reduces the environmental footprint associated with conventional farming methods. By minimizing transportation and utilizing cutting-edge technology, Swegreen continues to set new standards in the food production industry.
