Stockholm / SE. (swe) Swegreen AB is excited to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in three categories at the prestigious «Vertical Farming World Awards 2024», organized by Zenith Global. The winners will be revealed at the Vertical Farming World Congress 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Best Resource Efficiency: Swegreen’s Life Cycle Assessment in collaboration with Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) for its newly launched In-Store farming platform Saga set four global records; in regard to minimized CO2 emissions, energy efficiency, minimal water usage, and yield maximization per square meter, reaffirming our leadership in sustainability.
Best Research and Development Contribution: A portfolio of 65,000+ hours of R+D behind the Swegreen Freja and Saga growing platforms enabled groundbreaking technology for in-store farming, driven by AI, remote climate control, automation, and cloud-based farm management.
Best Technology Development: The launch of Saga, a compact, state of the art farming platform, has been a wow-factor for in-store food production, allowing retailers to grow up to 120 plants daily in just 8-12 square metres of space. The platform is used by Nordic major retailers such as ICA, Coop and Hemköp but also established a new expansion market in collaboration with German giants Edeka in Germany.
The 2024 Vertical Farming World Congress will bring together global leaders in vertical farming to discuss the future of the industry, with winners announced on 25 September during the awards ceremony.
