Kiev / UA. (div) In the current marketing year (July 2009 to June 2010) Ukraine will be able to supply international markets with 17 to 19 million tones of grains, reported the officials of sectoral association. This year exports will total 19 million tones, informed Leonid Kozachenko, the president of Ukrainian public union «Ukrainian agrarian confederation» in the enlarged meeting of Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. More unassuming forecast was given by Vladimir Klimenko, the president of Ukrainian grain association. According to him, with the production at about 39 to 40 million tones, grain exports will total 17 million tones. As it was informed earlier, at the beginning of June the Agrarian Ministry of Ukraine assumed that volumes of foreign supplies of grains should total about 17 million tones. The Ministry also forecasts that grain harvest in current year will total 42 to 43 million tones as opposed to 53,3 million tones in last year. By estimate, in 2008/2009 MY Ukraine exported 24/7 million tones of grains and owing to this join the ranks of three largest grain exporters after the United States and the European Union (source: agrimarket.info).
