Kiev / UA. (ami) As of the end of July, agrarians of Ukraine harvested 22 million tonnes of grains, declared Yuri Melnik, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine. According to him, the share of milling grains in the general volume of harvested grains (stocked in certified granaries) totals nearly 36 percent. At the same time, the average index of milling grains after the finishing of the harvesting campaign is expected at the level of 40 percent. The minister reminded that the forecasted grain and leguminous plant production in the current marketing year (MY, July 2009 to June 2010) will total nearly 42 to 43 million tonnes as opposed to 53,5 million tonnes last year. In 2008, the share of milling wheat in the general wheat harvest totaled 30 percent.
Several regions to complete grain harvesting campaign
Several regions of Ukraine, including Odessa, Zaporozhye, Nikholaev oblasts, the Crimea region, have almost completed grain harvesting campaign, declared Yuri Melnik, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, in another report (source: agrimarket.info).
