WSJ: Talks to sell United Biscuits stall

Hayes / UK. (div) Talks over the sale of British United Biscuits to Chinese Bright Food Group Co. Limited are close to falling apart, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported this week citing unnamed sources. United Biscuits´ owners, US financial services firm Blackstone Group and French private equity firm PAI Partners, entered exclusive talks with the Chinese group in September this year to sell the company for about two billion GBP (2,3 billion EUR). According to the sources, the exclusivity period has not ended yet but the negotiations are actually ceased. The reason for the breakdown is not clear yet, the paper wrote further.
