Belarus: completes mass grain harvesting campaign next week

Minsk / BY. (ami) Belarus will complete the mass harvesting campaign of grains at the end of the following week, declared Vladimir Garkun, the head of the main department of plant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, on August 13. According to him, in the terms of favorable weather, the country will complete the harvesting works next week. The average daily rates of harvesting totaled five to six percent, marked Garkun. As of August 13, Belarus harvested 1,5 million hectares of grains, or 65 percent of planned areas. The production volumes totaled 5,79 million tonnes with the average yield of 39 centner per hectare.
