Salima 2010: Preparations are well underway

Brno / CZ. (bvv) The trade fair grounds will again be filled by exhibitors from the whole world in Brno from 02 to 05 March. The uniting title of Salima means the varied show of food and food processing technologies, composed of

  • Salima – 27th International Food Fair,
  • MBK – 5th International Milling Industry, Bakery and Confectionery Fair,
  • Inteco – 24th International Fair of Equipment for Retail Trade, Hotels and Catering Facilities and
  • Vinex – 15th International Wine Fair. The food fair quatrefoil will be extended for the first time by
  • Embax – 26th International Trade Fair of Packaging and Packaging Technologies.

Salima will join forces with Embax

Trade fair organisers listened to the opinions of the packaging industry representatives who perceive the food processing sector as one of their most important supply areas. Moreover, demand for the packaging industry was stated by 39 percent Salima visitors in 2008. A connection with Salima is thus more than logical. Brno Exhibition Centre management believe that highlighting the nomenclature offer by adding packaging technologies will have a positive influence on the expertise of visitors who purposely attend Salima and will bring the exhibitors the benefits of acquiring new business opportunities.

Bio food – always a current topic

Just like in 2008, also two years later Salima will give special attention to the segment of organic food and environmentally friendly agriculture. Organic foodstuffs are more and more becoming part of consumer shopping and are among the fastest growing categories in food sales. International Food Fairs Salima 2010 will offer organic farmers, producers and sellers of organic food the possibility to advertise themselves in advantageous conditions and present their products and services before an international expert audience. Salima supports home-grown organic food and wants to contribute to increasing the awareness about their quality and advantages through accompanying activities aimed at the organic segment.

During the past two editions, Salima visitors could observe the newest health food products, new tendencies in food and drinks production, modern trends of catering and their close connection with a healthy lifestyle in the Trendy Project. In 2010 you can again encounter six categories. In «Go Future!» we will be introduced to the food of the future. «Go Trends!» is aimed at food for an active lifestyle. «Go Travel!» presents national specialities and international cuisine. Children´s and youth nutrition is tackled in the category «Go Kids!». Special and diet food will be found in the category «Go Special!» The sixth category is called «Go Organic!», where certified organic food will be presented. Participation in the Trends Project is also open to companies which will not be exhibiting at Salima Food Fairs.

Who are we going to meet?

Currently we have numerous official foreign participations confirmed for Salima, specifically there will be official representations of Brazil, The Netherlands, Croatia, India, Canada, Cyprus, Germany, Poland, Austria, Singapore, Slovakia, Serbia, Sri Lanka – thirteen countries altogether and many are still being negotiated. Salima thus again confirms its strong position in the field of international fairs of this sector.
